Raised in the security-conscious country of Israel, and a veteran of the Israeli Defense Forces, Ariel Silverstone has accumulated a wealth of experience with physical and information security topics ranging from user authentication to data center and hosting concerns. He has had broad computer industry experience for over 17 years with a proven record of project management, cost control, and initiating revenue increase through the smart and timely deployment of technology solutions.

In his IT management and consulting career, Mr. Silverstone focuses on providing IT strategy, engineering, and security solutions for a portfolio of primarily Fortune 500 clients, including USAA, Chase Manhattan, Citibank, GTE, General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Vanguard Funds and others. He specialized in companies in the Financial Services, Transportation, Medical Services and High-Technology industries.

Recognized by his peers for his advanced approach to the utilization of IT as a Strategic Asset, Mr. Silverstone was nominated to Computer World Premier 100 in IT for 2005 and 2007.

Mr. Silverstone continues to maintain and share his wealth of industry knowledge and experience by regularly contributing to information technology certification exams, books (so far over 20 published books) and many newspapers, electronic publications and magazines, including CSO, Computer World, Network World, eWeek and others. He is a frequently requested speaker and an avid writer. He is also working on a Radio show.

Currently Mr. Silverstone works as a Director at the Symantec Corporation. He also sits on the advisory boards of Safend and the Southeastern Cybercrime Institute at Kennesaw State University. He was formerly the Chief Information Security Officer for both Temple University and Bell Canada's Teleglobe.

Mr. Silverstone holds a Bachelor of Arts from Thomas A. Edison State College. He holds both the CISSP (for security) and the CBCP (for business continuity planning) certifications, as well as many others.
